TARA MATA HARI: A Gate to Infinity
It is easy to have preconceived ideas about a burlesque show. We all have preconceived ideas. The ideas that are generated by the "glasses" we use, the ones that adjust to our knowledge and experience. The big challenge is not to hold on to these ideas, using them to be alert, but want to see beyond them.
In this work the idea begins in Burlesque, with a Character from this Cabaret universe, to focus on the Person.
Tara Mata Hari was the gate that lead me to Diana, in a free and infinite world I like to feel present in each person.
In this work Tara Mata Hari's live act photographs are represented in colour, so the burlesque universe comes to us more directly and confronts us with our own preconceived ideas, and Diana Rego's images, in the dimensions captured, are represented in black and white, to deconstruct the same ideas into Diana's larger universe, focusing on what really matters.
